Abstract

New formulae have been elaborated to calculate availability and unavailability functions of objects under exploitation. The formulae got relate functions to characteristics of object reliability and maintainability. The distinctive feature of the new formulae is their being non-parametric, i.e. fit for random types of reliability and maintainability distribution functions. What had been earlier obtained in this area of research is parametric and, consequently, corresponds to some concrete types of reliability and maintainability distributions, which makes its application much more limited. For availability and unavailability functions there has been determined monotonous character of change, in dependence on the duration of object exploitation. For nonevident characteristics of reliability and maintainability, upper non-parametric estimations of unavailability function, and non-parametric lower estimations of availability function have been proved. The attainability of these estimations is determined. For availability and unavailability functions, limit values are found, as coefficients of availability and unavailability.
